Mechanical Process Engineer

We are looking for a qualified, motivated, self-starter with an exceptional eye for detail to the ABG family in the role of Mechanical Process Engineer. Working as part of the production team, the role is vital to ensure the continuous supply of assemblies to meet Production needs within set timescales. The individual will need to work well with others, have excellent communication skills, and be able to provide training on processes and equipment from across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain drawing instructions from Solid Edge Viewer
  • Collect kit / parts from stores
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Use KANBAN where required for non-kited assemblies
  • Build assemblies and modules at bench or floor level
  • Check for defects and report to Cell Leader if standards are not met
  • Train colleagues and apprentices a assigned by Cell Leader
  • Practice continuous improvement of processes and assemblies
  • Apply the above to all mechanical production assemblies
  • Adopt 5s and Lean Philosophy
  • Obtain build instructions from Cell Leader

Key Skills

  • Computer literate. Experience using the Microsoft Office utilities & Solid Edge Viewer
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Root cause analysis
