Leading Spanish converting equipment manufacturer, Enprom, has worked with Emsur, the flexible plastic packaging division of global packaging group, the Grupo Lantero, to develop their latest sleeve seaming solution – the eRS2T3. The new machine, which features a nonstop 3-shaft turret rewinder and is based on Enprom’s patented Smart Wheel innovation – a motorized roller solvent application system.
With 9 production plants in Europe, Asia and the Americas, Emsur has over 25 years of experience in the development and manufacture of premium flexible packaging solutions for food products. The eRS2T3 will replace one of its sleeve machines at its Madrid plant in Alcalá de Henares, allowing them to increase productivity while guaranteeing the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
The eRS2T3 has been developed to meet the high productivity demands of the labelling market. The new machine is driven by 8 servo motors and includes 2 independent tension controls on both the unwinder and rewinder to avoid errors and alterations in the width of the labels.
Designed to perform splices at 500m/min, the time required to perform a reel discharge cycle is reduced by almost 50%, thereby enabling high speed functionality and can be controlled by a single operator. In addition, the eRS2T3 includes advanced ergonomics and provides an increased focus on safety, incorporating an infrared optical barrier to safeguard operators.
This latest development creates added-value to the labelling market by improving productivity, increasing efficiency, quality and reducing operating cost and waste by more than 15%.
Enprom Solutions, jointly acquired by A B Graphic and Kocher+Beck, was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Girona, near Barcelona. Its product range includes equipment for shrink sleeve converting, slitting and rewinding, label finishing, coating and lamination and hybrid converting.
